Methodology
Prices come directly from each dispensary's own online menu, re-scraped four times a day. We only count a deal if it appeared in that shop's most recent successful scrape and is valid today, so pulled and expired promotions drop out within hours.
Per-gram figures are computed from the advertised weight of the specific product on offer. We deliberately exclude storewide and broad percentage-off promotions that span three or more products: their lowest qualifying item is not a price any shopper is guaranteed, and counting it would understate the real cost of a gram. Values outside a plausible band for their category are treated as menu-parsing errors and dropped.
Week-over-week movement is measured on a matched basket: we compare only products (same shop, brand, item and size) that were priced in both the last seven days and the seven before that, then average each product's own change (a Jevons index, the same method national statistics agencies use for consumer prices). Comparing raw weekly averages instead would report our own coverage changes as price swings, so a market stays silent here until it has enough matched history to be measured. Menu prices are sticky; the typical listing is usually unchanged week to week, and the reported movement comes from the items that were repriced.
